On Friday, May 6th, more than 700 corporate, nonprofit and civic leaders gathered together to advance our important mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s. It is because of the extraordinary participation of the Alzheimer’s Association’s dear friends - that we had our most successful Brain Ball ever – raising an incredible $3.1 million dollars!
We honored two phenomenal individuals – our national honoree and fund raising extraordinaire Thomas J. DeRosa, CEO of Welltower and regional honoree Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III. Two individuals who by word and deed exemplify incredible leadership, integrity and passion to help fight this disease.
In addition, the evening concluded with a rousing performance by Grammy nominated artist Gavin DeGraw. A fitting end to an incredible night.

The most influential and respected national business, political, philanthropic, non-profit and civic leaders will come together at the second annual Brain Ball to lead the fight against Alzheimer’s. The third annual Brain Ball will build on the momentum of last year’s extraordinary success.
Led by founding chairs Liz and Tom Donohue, the inaugural event raised more than $1.2 million dollars, elevating the profile of Alzheimer’s and its devastating toll on America’s families. In addition, The Brain Ball raised funds for cutting edge research and critical support services for individuals, families and caregivers facing the daily challenges of the disease.
All proceeds of the Brain Ball support the mission of the Alzheimer's Association to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Our vision is a world without Alzheimer’s. Your support is greatly appreciated!
